The primary mission of the Second Hand Store is to generate funds to support the programs of the MV Boys and Girls Club.  For this cause we accept tax-deductible donations of quality used goods including (but not limited to);  furniture, art, clothing, jewelry and housewares. These donations are sold at a reasonable price and the proceeds benefit the boys and girls of the Island.

Business Hours:

Due to Covid-19 The Second Hand Store is CLOSED until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience.

  • Downstairs closes 30 minutes prior to store closing to allow us time to clean and reset for the next day.

We appreciate all of your generous donations, please note the following guidelines:

  • Donations are accepted only during business hours.
  • PLEASE do not leave items on the sidewalk outside of our store, during or after business hours.  While most people have the best of intentions others are trying to dispose of items that we cannot sell. We have cameras recording 24 hours per day to document this act of illegal trash dumping. In addition to being illegal this generates costs for the Boys and Girls Club to dispose of the items.
  • We are very happy to take donations of furniture. If you have items to donate such as couches, table and chairs, or other large furniture but cannot deliver them to the store, call us to learn more about furniture pickup options and potential cost.
  • We will provide you with a receipt for tax purposes.
  • We are bound by certain legal requirements and therefore cannot accept the following items:
    • Electronics
    • Cars
    • Boats
    • Mattresses and box springs
    • Baby furniture and equipment, including car seats and strollers
    • Small toys with small or removable parts
    • Mattress pads and covers
    • Bed pillows
    • Under garments (unless new, in sealed bag with tags)
  • There are three parking spaces across the street from our store designated as loading and unloading.  These spaces can be used while you drop off items and we will be happy to assist you.  Please do not stop in the travel lane.

  • Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated. There are a variety of activities that you could assist with including, sorting and hanging clothing, organizing shelves and displays, cleaning and preparing housewares for display.
  • Please speak with our store manager if you would like to help support Island kids by volunteering.

Thank You!
